Taiwan minister Hung Sun-han returns from rare trip to China

He returned from China after participating in an APEC-related meeting on human resources, publicly confirming equal treatment as host obligations were met. This visit positioned him as the first minister from the current government to travel to China in a decade. Lai Ching-te: Lai Ching-te is the President of Taiwan who leads the government and has extended offers for dialogue with China. Beijing has rejected those overtures and labels him a separatist while maintaining daily military operations near Taiwan. The news underscores his administration's milestone in sending the first ministerial delegation to China since taking office. APEC Participation: Taiwan takes part in APEC under the name Chinese Taipei, one of the few international bodies where it holds membership alongside China. Travel Arrangements: Taiwanese officials can enter China for APEC events using a formal invitation letter without needing a standard compatriot permit.
